Moronic – the capital, the conurbation and a port of the state of Comoro Islands - is located on the island Ngazidzha (Great Comoro). Moronic prospered till the XVIth century as port of destination of the Arabian merchants. The population of the city is about 24000 inhabitants. Confession of inhabitants is Muslim faith. Here many of the most beautiful ancient mosques are situated, but the main place of interest of the city is the big, bright and picturesque market. In a basis of economy of the capital the food-processing industry lays. Articles of food are the main part of import. Vanilla, cocoa and coffee are exported. There is an international airport.
