LUSAKA, ZAMBIA

    
    Lusaka, the capital of Zambia and administrative centre of the province Lusaka, is located on a tableland at height of 1280 meters above the sea level. The population of capital is 1327000 inhabitants.
    Lusaka has arisen in 1905 as station of the railway being built then. The city has received the name after the leader of aboriginal African nation. In 1935 Lusaka has replaced Livingstone as an administrative centre of the British protectorate of Boreal Rhodesia, and in 1964 Zambia has become capital of an independent state.
    This young modern city distinguished on comfortable quarters in the European style and a pleasant temperate climate, is the main administrative, financial, industrial and transport center of Zambia.
    Here alimentary, sewing, chemical, car assembly industries are advanced. In Lusaka there are also enterprises on effecting cement, tobacco items and the electronic equipment. The waterpower plant on the river Zambezi provides city with the electric power. There is an international airport. The railway bridges capital to Livingstone in the south both Neola and other centers of production of copper ore in the north countries.
    In Lusaka there is a National institute of public control, college of applied arts and trade. Near the city the Zambian university is located.
